Riot Games announced this week that it has partnered with Opera GX, making the latter the Preferred Browser of League of Legends Esports Global Events. This partnership commences just in time for the 2024 League of Legends World Championship (a.k.a. Worlds 2024), and will last for several years. As a result, Opera GX will have several new features to support esports viewers, including exclusive Worlds Unlocked digital drops, all of which launch on September 25.
Other features include a co-streamer hub, for users to view other streamers who are participating alongside the official Worlds stream, with the option to filter by language. It’ll also have a “Riot Corner,” an interactive directory of all of the matches and a display of Worlds’ calendar that adjusts to the user’s time zone, though this is an official mode that viewers will have to download.
Riot is offering six official League of Legends mods for Opera users, which include animated wallpapers, sounds and themes. Users can also access free mods starring Lee Sin, Renata, Renekton, Varus, K’Sante, and the official LoL Esports theme.
