PTW acquires indie studio Ghostpunch Games

Boutique gaming services studio PTW announced today that it intends to acquire the assets and businesses of indie developer Ghostpunch Games for $13 million in an all-cash transaction. Ghostpunch has worked as a partner studio to multiple triple-A development companies, including 2K, Bethesda Game Studios and Gearbox. Both companies expect the transaction to close in September.

According to PTW, the studio plans to integrate Ghostpunch’s expertise with middleware technology and its own QA knowledge to create AI-based QA automations for clients. It also plans to synergize Ghostpunch’s art integration with its own AI art-creation technology.

Several members of Ghostpunch’s staff plan to shift during the acquisition, with executive director Hugh Falk becoming site head at PTW’s Fort Lauderdale office. Alejandro Garcia-Tunon shifts from director of technology to director of co-dev. Animation director Devon Browne becomes PTW’s senior animation manager, reporting to Falk. Director of operations Rick Daniels steps into the head of sales for art and co-dev position and reports to PTW’s CRO Kaley Hurst.
