Nominate a Mother Who Deserves Recognition for Glamour’s 2024 ‘Your Mom of the Year Award’

With 500-plus honorees over more than three decades, Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards have celebrated countless famous women—actors, activists, musicians, politicians, and more—who were also mothers. (News reporter Jane Pauley was a mother of three when she was honored as part of our inaugural class of Women of the Year in 1990.) We’ve also honored “regular” moms (including servicewomen and scientists) who became household names after stepping into the national spotlight. (Former teacher Elizabeth Glazer, also a 1990 Woman of the Year, was honored for her work as an AIDS activist. Though she died four years later, the organization she founded, The Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation, continues to fund the study of juvenile HIV and AIDS.)

This year—alongside the rest of our 2024 Women of the Year—we want to spotlight a different type of mom: A mom who doesn’t have a Pulitzer or an Academy Award. A mom who hasn’t met the President or been interviewed by Oprah. We want to celebrate a game-changing mom who the world doesn’t know about—yet. Maybe she’s an office manager, a lawyer, or a stay-at-home mom—but regardless of her job title, she’s made a difference in her state or her town or on the PTA of her children’s school. Maybe she’s your mom.

Glamour’s first-ever ‘Your Mom of the Year Award,’ presented by Volvo, will spotlight a mother who’s made a difference without Hollywood connections, without millions of social media followers, without millions in the bank to fund her cause.

If you know a mom who deserves recognition, tell us about her. She could be your own mother—or your sister, friend, or partner. Whatever your relationship is with her, she’s someone who you’ve seen make a remarkable difference in the world around her. She’s probably lost sleep, lost hope, and fought like hell—she might still be fighting.

When we announce this year’s Women of the Year in early October—ahead of the Women of the Year Awards on October 8 in New York City—we’ll also announce the ‘Your Mom of the Year Award’ honoree on our site and social. Below you’ll find a form where you can nominate a mom you love. We look forward to hearing about a diverse array of amazing mothers—and sharing one of their stories in October.
