Natalie Portman Wore Fall’s Comfiest Boot Trend to the Dior Fashion Show

Natalie Portman just found the answer to a question we all regularly ask ourselves before we leave the house in the morning: Do I wear the shoes that look the best, or the ones that are the most comfortable?

Portman proves we don’t have to choose. Her latest pair of It Boots can do both. During Paris Fashion Week, we spotted the actor attending the Dior fashion show in a pair of shoes that are equal parts trendy and comfy. Practical, cool, and versatile, biker boots are going to be your closet staple this season.

It’s not surprising that the actor is the one to serve fall style inspo. When we think of Natalie Portman, it’s not just her series of well-known films like Black Swan or Star Wars that spring to mind. As a long-standing brand ambassador for Dior and the face of its “Miss Dior” fragrance, the actor can always be seen in the front row of the Maison’s fashion shows. And her looks are always on point.

For this year’s show at Paris Fashion week, she went for an all-black look with a few silver details. She wore a glittering bubble skirt with a lace-up corset with buckles and a jacket with puffed sleeves, both in velvet. What caught our eye, though? Portman rounded off her outfit with flat black biker boots made from vegan leather, giving the overall look a touch of ’90s grunge.

As you can guess from the name, biker boots have their origins in the motorcycle scene. These rather rough shoes are characterized by thick soles, a wide shaft, and the characteristic leather straps with metal buckles.

Weatherproof, comfortable, and chic? Check, check, check! They sound almost too good to be true. No wonder biker boots have been making our fashion hearts beat faster this fall. All the better that these trendy boots can be styled in so many different ways, whether it’s a grungy ’90s-inspired look like Natalie Portman’s or a break in style with a playful dress and cable-knit sweater. Even those who prefer jeans won’t miss out on the trend: Wide jeans with just the top of the boots peeking out form a good foundation for a cool autumnal look.
