Miley Cyrus has taken the sheer trend to the next level.
At the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday, the star strode onto the red carpet in a look that immediately let everyone know she is ready to battle not only for multiple Grammys but for best dressed on the carpet.
Cyrus’s chain mail dress was constructed out of gold safety pins that were layered over a sheer mesh corset; the full look is completely see-through save for the strategically designed bra and panties elements. With her sky-high teased hair and sequined tasseled sleeves, Cyrus was giving the iconic Pepsi gladiators commercial or maybe Barbarella.
Cyrus is one of the most nominated musicians this year, up for album of the year, record of the year, song of the year, and best pop vocal album.
When the nominations were announced, Cyrus celebrated her accomplishments and those of her fellow artists on Instagram by writing:
“Congratulations to all of this years Grammy nominees. Watching women rule the music industry makes me proud. It’s fun to be nominated & exciting to win but having my music LOVED around the world is the real trophy. To my Smilers – I celebrate YOU today. Your joy is my bliss. Cyrus skipped the 2023 Grammys, having no eligible music, and was snubbed the year before. Her most recent Grammys appearance was in February 2019, when she wore a black suit with oversized sleeves and no shirt.
