Gisele Bündchen just stepped out in an outfit that she could have put together, honestly any time in the past twenty years. And that’s not a diss. She’s just taking what’s always worked for her and ignoring the trends.
The Brazilian supermodel stepped out for a walk in TriBeCa wearing mid-rise, cropped, cigarette-ankle jeans in a mid-blue wash, distressed, paired with corded earbuds and sandals that are just this side of gladiator style. Anyone else wear this exact combo for like ten years from â05 to â15? You just know she’s listening to Foster The People and thinking about which character from The Office she is (Gisele is confident, competent and a little intimidating: Angela).
Bündchen completed the look with a breezy linen top and sunglasses, as well as a woven bucket bag for the essentials and some gold jewelry. Easy and timeless. And though Bünchen is clearly mixing and matching the trends of yore, she’s also, maybe, previewing what’s next. I spoke to Molly Dickson, the stylist who dresses Kaia Gerber and Bella Hadid, about what to look for this fall. âLess is more now. Less luxury and a little bit more minimalistic. It’s more neutral colors, more simple silhouettes,” she told me, citing the Marshalls Good Stuff Style Collective as a resource. She added, “a lot of that hints to what we’re calling the down to earth trend, bringing in a lot of those more neutral earth tone palettes.â
