After that, these lovebirdsâ bond just continued to grow. They cried together, they told each other they loved each other, and Stephen proposed. Once they met, the couple was ecstatic. âIâm engaged to a hot, sweet man,â gushed Monica. Stephen was similarly sprung: âThat girl is everything, and Iâm about to marry her.â
Once in Mexico, the couple seemed to be getting along great, but in the last few moments of episode six things started to fray a bit. Monica said she had been getting annoyed that she âcouldnât get a word inâ with the perpetually chatty Stephen. âYou have to share the space, seriously,â she said.
Unfortunately, this seemingly inconsequential spat foretold the beginning for the end for these two. They continued to bicker in Mexico (Monica was annoyed Stephen didnât get her flowers and that he didnât watch fireworks with her), and once they returned home, things got worse. Stephen found out heâd lost his job while he was away, and though Monica said she was down to float them for a while, that canât be a great way to start off a relationship.
Then, at the end of episode eight, everything blew up. In an explosive argument, Monica confronted Stephen about sexting another woman, while at aâ¦sleep test? Not sure why thatâs where he chose to engage in that particular activity, but either way, it sucks.
Unsurprisingly, Monica dumps him, and asks him to Venmo her for the shared expenses, which, touché. Her LIB bestie, Taylor, then comes over to comfort her, and even her fiancé, Garrett, supports her. So at least Monica got a good friendship out of the experience.
Did they get married on the show, and are they still together?
Um, no. Def not.
