More than six months after Olivia Munn revealed that she’d had a double mastectomy to treat breast cancer, she’s showing off her scars in the latest Skims campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Photos from the spread show Munn modeling two different Skims bras and a bodysuit. In others, Munn is photographed topless, revealing the scars on the side of her breasts from the double mastectomy and breast reconstruction.
“When Skims approached me to do this campaign, it was just to do their shapewear and their new leggings, and it wasn’t about my scar at all,” Munn said in a Today show interview on October 23. But, she explained, when the makeup artist went to cover up the scar, Munn stopped her, and approached the Skims team about including the scars in the campaign.
“In the middle of this latest @SKIMS campaign shoot, I decided I was done being insecure about my mastectomy scars,” Munn wrote on Instagram. “Every mark life has left behind on my body is proof of how hard I fought. I hope other women who have been self-conscious about their scars see these photos and feel all the love I’m sending.”
