Emily Ratajkowski’s Clingy Off-the-Shoulder Top Is Perfect for a Winter Date Night

Regina George wore an off-the-shoulder top and flares, so Emily Ratajkowski wore an off-the-shoulder top and flares.

Okay, fine, I cannot say with one hundred percent certainty that Emily Ratajkowski’s latest look is inspired by Rachel McAdams’s second-most-memorable outfit from Mean Girls (the first being the slutty Santa costume), but the similarities cannot be overlooked. EmRata stepped out in New York on October 5 wearing a clingy white off-the-shoulder top, which she paired with mid-rise flared trousers, brown boots, and a fire-engine red handbag.

For women of a certain age, the outfit represents an iconic moment in cinematic history. The image of Regina George wearing this exact silhouette during a pivotal scene in Mean Girls (2004) is forever seared into my brain, from the visible turquoise bra straps to the “punk” white leather belt studded with dozens of grommets, to the tiny hot pink purse. EmRata’s take is more modern, but Queen Bee energy remains.

The 34-year-old was photographed with Ziwe Fumudoh in SoHo, where the two were presumably up to regular It girl shenanigans like being hot in public and being photographed while being hot in public. Fumudoh wore a long-sleeve black crop top with fuzzy cuffs and a silk, floor-length skirt. (I’m not sure what Fumudoh’s middle name is, but I highly suggest she change it to “Abs” because girl.)
