Itâs not an exaggeration to say that when Meghan Markle gets dressed in the morning, it can make the news. We cover it all the time. Whatever she picks tends to sell out fast, so Markle is purposeful in her wardrobe choices, and opened up about them in a new interview.
âTimes where I know there is a global spotlight, and attention will be given to each detail of what I may or may not be wearing, then I support designers that I have really great friendships with, and smaller, up-and-coming brands that havenât gotten the attention that they should be getting,â she told the New York Times in a rare interview. âThatâs one of the most powerful things that Iâm able to do, and thatâs simply wearing, like, an earring.â She do be wearing earrings.
Markle recalled a specific time when she gave the Meghan Boost to a brand called Strathberry, which allowed the company to hire more employees. The experience âchanged everything in terms of how I then looked at putting an outfit together,â she said.
Sheâs also putting her money where her, uh, style is, making actual monetary investments in some smaller brands. âInvesting in them has helped me line up for this chapter where Iâm investing in myself,â the Duchess of Sussex said, characterizing her foray into venture capital as a âdolphin tankâ as opposed to a âShark Tank,â quipping, âThese are friendly waters.â
