How Wayne Cryts and thousands of other farmers kept a bankruptcy court from confiscating grain he had paid to store in a Ristine, Missouri public elevator. Wayne Cryts rented space int he grain elevator in the fall of 1979 to store his family's entire crop of soybeans - more than 30,000 bushels, worth about a quarter of a million dollars. The elevator, licensed and bonded by the State of Missouri. Cryts got warehouse receipts and paid storage charges. When the elevator declared bankruptcy, the bankruptcy judge tried to confiscate Wayne's stored beans to pay off debts incurred by the elevator. Thousands of farmers went to Ristine, defied Federal Marshals, loaded the beans into 74 trucks, and moved them. This, and the rest of the story, is documented with facts and photos in this 32 page book originally published in 1979 by the American Agriculture News, Alden and Micki Nellis. The original documentary book has been scanned and put into searchable and printable Adobe pdf format.
